I'm probably like thousands of other fans who left early at the "Miracle Bowl" (BYU vs SMU) in 1980. I'd taken my non-member dad and he was tired of seeing BYU get pushed around and was adamant that he wanted to leave early. I made a weak attempt to dissuade him only to be intimidated into walking out with him. He must have asked me a thousand times for forgiveness after that! I heard the huge cheer getting into my car and couldn't turn the radio on fast enough, it was then I realized what a wuss I had been and that I should have just said what I felt - I don't ever want to leave a BYU game early (well maybe the 54-10 shellacking would be the exception).
