almost for sure be ahead of Esukpa in my opinion. I would guess that Williams and Katoa end up splitting most of the carries with Esukpa the #3 back in the rotation this year. He battle an injury last year which kept him out much of the late season, but his last 2 games in which he played significant snaps he rushed 15 times for 79 yards vs Hawaii and had 19 rushes for 155 yards and 4 TDs vs New Mexico St. Granted you have to factor in the competition he was going against, but he was only a freshman and if he can build upon those performances he definitely has the potential to be a pretty solid RB for us.
Jackson McChesney was a pretty solid recruit (high 3-star guy) and is expected to be a contributor at RB. Only reason to think he can't eventually become a "feature RB" is because he's a white guy from Utah. Sione Finau could play into the mix and should provide some depth.
Also, BYU is currently targeting Ikaika Ragsdale as a RB recruit for 2020. He currently plays a Bishop Gorman in Vegas. He is another high-end 3-star recruit (rated slightly higher than McChesney) and currently has offers from Arizona, Fresno St, Oregon, and Southern Miss. We appear to be the frontrunner to get him right now. We also have an offer out to Israel Benjamin from Scottsdale, AZ. He's a lower-end 3-star guy and has offers from Army, Navy, Liberty, and pretty much every Ivy League school.
