It's becoming very common to claim victimhood of some sort. When in doubt claim
bullying by others.
My 9 year old noticed this on various shows she watches from American Idol to cooking shows. The contestants often claim that they turned to cooking, singing, etc. because of bullying, a health issue, etc. It is rarely just because they really like it.
