Most went into seeing it expecting it to be a total flop but a lot of people are coming out saying that it's "not bad". They're not saying it's great either, but it's better than what they were expecting. The most common criticism seems to be centered around the CGI of Genie while Naomi Scott seems to be getting pretty high praise for her portrayal of Jasmine. Most are also saying that the movie is fun even if it does have some flaws with it. Based upon reactions I expected it to be right around 60% or so (which is the cutoff point for fresh/rotten) and that appears to be what we're actually seeing as well. It is rating better than Dumbo (47% and 5.55 average rating) but does fall short of Beauty and the Beast (71% and 6.69 rating). I'll probably still go and see it this weekend.
