I just doubt they have the ability to institute one. No one on that staff has ever been a part of one as a coach. I think the best we can hope for is that they find a way to have a balanced and efficient offense where they can pass well when needed. I don’t think they’ll ever have a put it up in the air and rack up the yards offense like BYU had in the past and I don’t think that’s what they’re trying to have. QBs do not set records in the type of offense they are going to run.
The BYU records for a few of the passing stats are
Yards in a season 5188’ - Ty Detmer
Passing TDs season 47 - Jim McMahon
Those are the biggies but attempts, completions, etc are pretty ridiculous and not likely to be approached. I don’t know what season records they think Zach has a chance to break but if he does then we’re in for one heckuva ride this year.
