I was serving as bishop. It was a small ward. We gave six weeks notice. Stake President wouldn't talk to me nicely. My FIL wouldn't come to our house when we left. Took about 5 years to repair. I saw the Stake President (since released) a few weeks ago, he seems to have moved on. Lots of hurt feelings. It has been a good decision for my family.

Some members were happy, some were hurt. If I was in another calling maybe there would have been fewer happy. Mostly people were confused.

As per usual, if people new half of what is going on in peoples lives there would be much more empathy, and less hurt feelings.
