we did the crown a few years ago, that was worth it. Not sure the pedestal is
Worth it. Was super crowded when we were there. We did get a picture of the NY skyline from it, but was nearly impossible being how crowded it was

As far as cost goes, get a Sightseeing pass or City Pass. Saves lots
