I own a small glass shop in the Salt Lake valley.
Insurance companies have set rates that they pay out. Some companies pay out better than others. We are able to waive up to $100 of a deductible because the insurance company's usually pay at least that much above what I would charge for a cash price. Some companies will offer to pay you with incentives if you have a zero deductible and still make more then they would have charged you if you paid out of pocket. Once in a while, I will make less than I would have charged you if you paid out of pocket by waiving the deductible.
