Not sure what you are asking me. Certainly you would agree that the
version of the Cavs that beat them with Kyrie and Love were better than the one they played a year ago (that Cleveland team would be 5th in this year's Eastern Conference).

Furthermore, I just told you that Durant makes them better. It makes them more dynamic and able to match up defensively and gives you another all world shooter to worry about when you play against them.

I simply wanted to tell you that circumstances can make stats a lot less meaningful. You can give me the stats about the Finals and it makes it look like the Warriors are a mediocre team without Kevin Durant. I can give you the pre-finals record in the playoffs this year and it makes it seem like the Warriors are much better without Durant. The answer is somewhere in the middle. The Warriors are (or at least were when their stars were younger) an NBA Champion, all-time record breaking 73 win team without Kevin Durant. They are even better and more dynamic when Kevin Durant plays... especially when Iguodala is hurt (and old), Klay is hurt and not 100%, Cousins is on the floor, Bogut is a decrepit version of what he used to be and they sold their depth to pay for Curry, Durant, Klay and Draymond.

NBA windows don't stay open very long because of age. Iguodala has already fallen a lot to father time and Curry won't be far behind. Without the younger Durant this team will struggle to be dominant moving forward. Hopefully he signs elsewhere and we can see the former Champions try to use their skill and knowledge to beat younger, more athletic teams moving forward.
