Question for board Drs or Pharmacists. Can you stack OTC pain meds? I.e. bad headache, 2 advil doesn’t do it.

Can you take 2 tylenol, still not there, so add 2 aleve. Is that doable? As long as you don’t take more than recommended doses for any individual drug? And yes, I realize I can at least take more advil (800 mg) than the OTC dose, I'm more curious if there are any side effects or dangers to stacking such meds.

Thats how Ive always felt but today had one that was still bad after 4 advil and 2 tylenol. I was tempted to take 2

Why Benedryl? I understand that caffeine helps with migraines (which is what Im assuming I had).

Excedrin works much better on my headaches than any other OTC medication.
