I’d buy exceptionalism but not triumphalism. 13-0 has nothing to do with either.
We’ve seen blowouts by other countries in World Cups, so it’s not a USA thing. It’s more a function of how the World Cup tiebreaker rules are set up.
I wasn’t not a fan of the exuberant celebrations after the 6th goal.
