Ok, not quite. But I have seen some training regimens of eastern euro players when they were small kids. One that stood out was a dad ripping balls at the kid in an indoor tennis court at 5 am in the middle of the winter. That was — out of necessity — how Jimmy Connors trained as a kid in East St Louis. Can you imagine the reaction time and footwork you would develop taking a skidding tennis ball off a laminated wood floor (used to be an approved surface < 1970)? After 90 minutes of that, Connors would jump rope for an hour. Blue collar work.
I can't imagine Taylor Fritz grew up training under anything but country club conditions with coaches telling him how great he was.
