As a parent of an autistic child, I recommend caution. Some people see
abuse where it doesn't exist. My wife has scars up and down her arms from meltdowns. But she's also been looked at funny for restraining the kid to protect herself/others during a meltdown. I'm pretty sure she's even had DCFS called on her at least once.

Now, calling names and striking is not acceptable to me. If a parent can't be the adult, that is a problem. And there is a difference between pulling and yanking.
