In moderate weather. A sleeping pad usually does it. In the winter I pin good mummy bag to the underside of the hammock, then use a pad in the hammock and my warm sleeping bag to sleep in. The underside bag gives me about 6-8 inches of insulation and it is not compressed at all and it makes for a very comfortable need night. I have slept nice at below zero.
I always put a tarp up above me to keep off night time rain fall. I also put a poncho or plastic on ground to give me something to stand on clean in the morning.
Sleeping in my hammock always gives me a really relaxing night rest. I love it.
