Haha. A spider apparently spent the entire weekend building an elaborate web
outside my window. A real work of art.

I was just staring at it for a few minutes, admiring the workmanship of the creative web builder as the light hit it and made it shine.

Then, a hummingbird came floating up to it and over about a one-minute span, repeatedly plucked at one thread after another until the whole thing was destroyed. Absolutely a mess. Didn't eat the spider or any other bug caught in the web. Didn't have to move the web to get somewhere. Just flew up, said, "Oh, here's something a fellow creature of nature worked hard at building", destroyed it and flew away.

To paraphrase Alfred Pennyworth, "Some [hummingbirds] just like to watch the world burn."
