on a serious note I'd like to know specifics that the offensive coaching staff has around production goals for the passing offense this year. Last season we seemed to lack identity and coaches seemed to mis-identify what our strengths were (and even who our best players were at certain positions). They felt we were a run first team and focused early on stretching the field from sideline to sideline but seemed too spooked to try and stretch the field vertically. We were very fortunate to win some of our early games and lost some because of the conservative scheme.
I get thrilled when I listen to Mark Pope with the basketball team talk about specific advanced metrics that he's identified where the men's bball team can have an advantage on the court next season. I would like to hear the offensive football coaches give some detail on what they plan to do differently this year and how they plan to accomplish it, beyond just vague statements like "we plan to throw the ball downfield, blah blah, etc etc". I'd like to hear them talk about goals around things like Yards per Attempt and Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt and other critical success factors that lead to wins on the field.
