Sounds great, and a good way to have your wife get interested in it. I'll put that on my list.
The High Uintas in Utah do have their share of ups and downs, but lots of tree coverage and water too. Not Oregon tree coverage, but good coverage nonetheless.
I've got a backpacking trip planned in the High Uintas for end of July, and hopefully my wife will be able to go. She's recovering from foot surgery, so we'll see if she's healed enough by then.
