It's all in HOW you drink the koolaid, I say.
The team is going to win or lose no matter how optimistic or pessimistic I am. So I may as well be optimistic and hopeful going into the season instead of pessimistic and expecting failure.

I mean - I get it. They may lose some games. They may not win them all. But why not go into the season believing they have a chance in each and every game they play? Doesn't hurt anything. And makes the waiting more enjoyable for me.

I know - some folks feel like if they're optimistic and then the team loses, then they'll be sad and betrayed. I mean - I'll be disappointed if they lose too. But not any more disappointed than I would be if I go into it hopeful and optimistic. Losing is losing. Let it go and have hope for the next play, quarter, half, game, or season.
