Example #1- After a city league basketball game, two guys go to blows in the parking lot. My friend only threw one punch but it knocked the guy out and when he hit the ground, he hit his head. He died 3 days later and my friend did 4.5 years in prison. In addition to the loss of life on the other end, my friend is a convicted felon for life, lost his business, missed years with his family, and has to live with knowing he killed someone.

Example #2- Guy punches a guy at a flag football game. Breaks his jaw. The victim sues him and gets a judgment for excess of 50k. The guy who threw the punch, ended up on probation and his wife seizes the opportunity to leave the country with his kids (back to her home country). Guy can't leave the USA or get into the other country because of his criminal record. The 50k ruins him as well as losing his family. Turns to alcohol and substances and is an absolute mess still to this day.

I have a dozen or so other examples when drinking goes wrong and it results in split second decisions to fight with life long consequences. So dumb.....
