If you know they're sick lay a sheet out on the carpet next to their bed. Put a trash can with a hefty bag inserted in it. Train them to put their head inside if it is the middle of the night. Then, all you have to do is pull the bag out and dump it in the outside trash. Give them a $5 bonus for making it in the bag.
