BYU had very few home games in place when they signed that first deal

Both BYU & ESPN knew going in that there would be some lean home schedules until BYU matured into independence. This new deal will be signed with the knowledge that BYU has about four quality home games per season between P5s and high level G5s. That should result in a significantly increased payout for BYU.
