'96 and '01 come to mind. Of course, the team

got blown out in Hawaii in '01, but there is a decent argument to be made that being told BYU was out of contention for an Alliance Bowl during the week leading up to that game took a lot of wind out of our sails.

And if we aren't trying to be tested at the highest level, IMO, what's the point?
