BYU probably wasn't the best team in the country that year

I'm okay with that and will gladly appreciate the flawed system that gave BYU a national title that year.

I can see a competitor wanting to prove that they really were the best but I'm just grateful for the trophy sitting outside the football offices.

Probably 2006. They took a few weeks to find traction and then mostly dominated.

We did prove it at the end of the year... we beat a pretty good K-State team that was ranked 14th in the country...
