I actually have a cousin whose husband struggled financially for many years chasing a golf pro dream. He finally decided that it just wasn’t in his DNA so he hung it up and got a real job. They are doing fine now, financially.
Being in a P5 conference and competing at a high level every year is not in BYU’s DNA. This is mostly due to the HC, high academic standards, and being a conservative religious private school. None of these debilitating factors are likely to change so accepting our DNA is not cowardly but rather realistic.
