CB doctors or other experts, looking for some advice. My wife is at her wits end. She woke up about a week ago
with some shoulder pain. She woke up with the pain and can't remember doing anything that could have caused it. She managed to get through that day at work and had the next two days scheduled off so she was hoping the pain would subside. It only got worse and couldn't do anything till Friday because of the holiday.

Friday she went to the urgent care where they were unable to identify what the issue was and gave her a steroid injection and that didn't really do anything. She has RA and is limited on the pain medication she can take. She's not supposed to take Aleve but she tried it because it usually works for her. Tylenol wasn't doing anything. She's has Flexeril(sp?) but that didn't impact the pain at all.

There's no comfortable position to be in where the pain subsides. She went to her PCP yesterday and they prescribed Tylenol with codeine. She says with that she can still feel the pain but at least doesn't care about the pain. They said they think maybe it's a torn rotator cuff. But, again, no clue how that would have happened.

Anyway, they have referred her to a specialist now so she's waiting to see that doctor. But she's nervous because she can't really drive or work at all because her right arm is useless. She just started this job about 4 months ago and is nervous how this will effect her.

She thinks it might be a pinched nerve but it isn't getting any better and one would think that with a pinched nerve the pain would subside, but what do I know.

Anyway, any one here ever heard anything similar or have any suggestions?
