How did Davies help them make the Sweet 16 (& OT loss from Elite Eight)?
I'm not discrediting that team at all. What a great team that was & incredibly fun to watch given Jimmers magical year!

Not trying to sound against that team, but rather suggest this year's upcoming team has enough talented and proven players(by BYU standards) to win at least one game and even realistically 2 Tournament games(make Sweet 16). If Jimmer minus Davies(who was arguably their 2nd best/most important player) almost makes it to the Elite Eight, why wouldn't a group of talented, proven Sr guys like YC, TJ, JT& maybe NE be that far fetched from winning 2 tourney games(16)?

While Sr yr Jimmer was certainly a better scorer than anyone on this year's team, it's very realistic to suggest that all 4 of this yrs YC, TJ, JT & NE will prove better all around offensively than anyone else on that Davies-less Sweet 16 team(except likely not N Emery over J Emery) Remember, we already know how talented each of those players were on that particular team(eg frosh KC & soph Davies not close to their jr& Sr yr abilities). But we still haven't seen just how much better this yrs team will be individually. It's not a stretch at all to suggest YC, TJ & JT will be at least incrementally better all around this yr compared to any prior years as those 3 are reported to be extremely hard workers(major gym rats).

As I mentioned in another post, I don't think any BYU team returned 4 players that each had already post multiple seasons with double digit scoring averages. And 3 of those 4 guys posted those multiple double digit seasons with very high shooting efficiency: Over 50+% 2fg (Yoeli, TJ & Toolson)
