I'd really like to see Netflix/Amazon do a faithful adaptation as a miniseries

The 80's film is a camp classic, but Michael Ende hated it, and if you've read the book it's pretty easy to see why. The book actually has several lovely themes, especially about moving on from grief, and the movie has none of them.

Plus there are some seriously cool parts in the book that would be awesome on screen.
