We invite people over for dinner almost every week. Its a different family every time, but the majority are almost always at least 5 minutes late. Some are up to 20-30 minutes late (that's more rare, but it happens).
Occasionally we will get an "On our way!" text that was sent at the time we were expecting them. But usually they just arrive when they arrive and then apologize for being late.
When a meal is being served, I appreciate people who arrive early (or on time at the very least) so that the food can be served hot.
