Oklahoma State is the perfect example of P5 inequalities
I follow OSU fairly closely. My family has very strong ties to the school and also to OU. To say that OSU is second fiddle to OU is massive understatement. OU garners 95% of the media attention in the state. OU is in what is basically a suburb of OKC. Stillwater is in a Loganesque type of town. Remote, small and rather unnoticeable.

Yet because of history (and 1 seriously loaded donor) OSU is in a P5 conference and making gobs of money. You can make the same argument for schools like Washington State, Oregon State, etc. Then you have a school like USC sitting in the middle of a huge and wealthy population center and is nationally recognized and is making less money than OSU.

Now I don't feel sorry for USC one tiny bit. But I bring this up because with the changes to how tv services are available I can see some of the P5 conference changing their models to give the lion's share of money to the schools that better deserve it. OSU isn't generating their fair share when compared to OU or Texas but they get the same money. That can't sit well with the people running the show at those schools.
