I think he's great in transition, but in the half court game, his defender sags because he knows BS isn't an outside threat. That makes it harder for Joel and everyone else to drive to the hoop or get a good look on the wing.

His stats get much, much worse as the playoffs go along as he's facing better competition and other teams figure out his weaknesses and take advantage of them. As was mentioned earlier, BB couldn't play him in crunch time because he was too much of a liability.

You want to give that type of money to a guy who gets better in the playoffs, or at least maintains his stats at the regular season level, not someone who regresses as much as he does.

Part of the problem is Brett Brown. I don't think he plays BS like he should. When BS brings the ball up the court and he passes or hands it off on the perimeter, often times he just stands there with nothing to do. He can't shoot, nor can he cut to the basket in part because Embiid and his defender clog the lane, and because his defender sags and can react easily to a cut. In addition JJ Reddick and Jimmy Butler (in Miami now) weren't great at feeding him either.

I'm not the first to suggest this but he's great at receiving the ball in a pick and roll situation, but BB never runs it for him. He'd be better in a Draymond type roll (minus the 3 pt shooting of course) but as long as BB is there you'll never see it.
