That line endured but it was all based on the contracts prior to these. At the time Fox and ESPN decided NOT to slash a deal that was a year or so from ending when teams left (which they would have had the right to do) and the Fox deal was frankly undervalued badly. The ESPN deal was competitive.

So basically it was true for about a year but it’s been a few years since then.
