In many ways it’s truly remarkable that BYU is able to do what it does considering the inherent limitations.
I always engage visiting fans and even offer to take them on a tour or buy them dinner after the game and they always come away very impressed with the program and the fans.
It seems like if Utah fans would spend just a little bit of time trying to see the good in their rival there would be at least some opportunity for some mutual healthy respect.
I lived on the U campus for over a year and worked at the Jewish Community Center on campus across from the hospital and it was very eye opening - for both the good and the bad. Attended football games for the 06 and 07 seasons at RES. Tried, really tried to find the good in Ute football.
The outcome?
I ended up respecting the good in BYU more than I did before.
In conclusion, you should be grateful we are your rival.
