Over the course of an EV's life, they are unquestionably better for the environment. This is not an issue of opinion, or you being a 'hater' or a 'realist'. You're just wrong.
And furthermore, recycled batteries reduce the need for additional polluting in sourcing materials for new batteries. It's more efficient the 2nd time around.
There is no 'breakthrough' needed for EVs to be less harmful to the environment, they are, right now.
