ND
USC
FSU
Michigan
OU
Texas

Among a few others... these schools are on a different level than even most “peer P5s”

For schools like FSU and Texas the question is not IF they comeback to greatness as much as it is WHEN.

Schools like Baylor, Oregon St, Pitt, Duke, Colorado, the Iowa’s, the AZ schools and yes Utah... they may flash in the pan and compete with those elites but they will not be on that same level... their coach would be poached just like they poached the coach from a G5.

My point is, as an independent (with a tv deal > AAC) BYU has the same chance to be that flash in the pan as North Carolina, Illinois, Rutgers, Texas tech etc

The difference between Indy BYU and say...AAC BYU is the flash in the pan is on a bigger stage than a G5... the repercussions of that flash in recruiting and TV deals would be massively bigger.

True, the likelihood is less, but only a little less...

Probably 5-6 of the losses to Utah were decided on a single play. The Cal game was close. The 2016 season was one play off... 2015 was so close to only one loss... the likelihood is only a little less.
