But I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a fairly large percentage of the pool of athletes. It’s sad to see a single individual squander the potential for generational wealth for his family. Hopefully continuing to educate all athletes on the pitfalls of fame and money, making wise investments, and taxes will make a dent in this problem but I don’t see it ever going away.
