- and possibly not for the better. Mitchell might have done well at BYU, but it's unlikely he would have accomplished anything close to Detmer's career.

Also, Mitchell played at Utah from 1987 to '89 (he left school one year early to enter the NFL draft), so he would not have taken over after Bosco's graduation anyways, even if he had gone to BYU.
