Getting QB pressure with the front four
Listening to camp reports, a common theme seems to be concern about whether BYU has defensive ends who can beat an OT one-on-one. Will Snowden gave Utah’s troubled O-Line the edge because he hasn’t seen a current BYU DE prove they can get to the QB. The interior line should be solid with Tonga, El Bakri, and Fauatea, but there’s less confidence in the outside rush. These are the guys who really need to step up this season:

Trajan Pili - Senior who has played a lot of snaps, but hasn’t shown ability to get to the QB consistently. 5.5 career sacks.

Zac Dawe - Junior with some experience. Good things coming out of camp about his ability. 1 career sack.

Devin Kaufusi - Sophomore who certainly has the genetics to be great. Not a lot of experience. 1 career sack.

Uriah Leiataua - Junior, former 4-Star recruit with tons of P5 offers. 0 career sacks.

For reference, Utah DE Bradlee Anae had 8 sacks just in 2018.
