I mean, look how many kids who do believe in it and want to obey it still mess up. Someone who saw it as a silly school rule probably isn't going to last very long.

This is the main reason that I believe BYU football and basketball are going to be middle-of-the-road going forward. There are enough LDS and Christian athletes who are ok living BYU's rules to field decent teams, but not enough to build deeply talented teams.
