we went down to Rice Eccles for the game. I was a mid teen and hadn't seen the vitriol side of the rivalry yet. Driving to the stadium, we heard people yelling to get the %#&^ out of there. We were flipped off, etc. A group of college kids also gathered around my dad, younger brother and I because we parked in a spot that was theirs, even though it was not marked or saved. My dad, a tough son of a, was ready to take them on until he realized he shouldn't put my brother and I in danger, so we parked a block away.
Once in the stadium we were fine, but I loved that experience. Ate it up!
I was also down there last year and had very kind Utah fans chat with me. One guy reminded me I didn't need to buy a pass for the tracks with my ticket. Very kind!
It's amazing how different some fans can be... I'm sure it is easier to be kind because of the winning streak. There might even be some sympathy in there.. After all, we've done them a great service by allowing them to win 8 in a row 😉
