Something clicked a few weeks ago. We moved away from long balls to an attacking wing being our primary offensive scheme and moved more toward balanced possession through all three attacking midfielders. We still have the long balls in our arsenal but it has been a great change to see it no longer being our first attacking option.

This change has gotten Albert Rusnak far more involved in everything we do and that is a great thing. He is now able to change and influence games whereas he was often invisible in the early half of the season. This also means we are getting better opportunities that lead to better finishing... a thing we've lacked for a few years. When our chances are coming from shorter passing into the box instead of from crosses from far out on the wings we are opening up more space. That space is allowing us to get more runs into the box and is also making the long crosses in more effective because of that space.

With the possession style taking over we are also more engaged on defense further up the field and our current defensive run shows that. We aren't only conceding very few goals but we are preventing good opportunities for our opponents.

This weekend will be a tough test and even with our current form I am not sure a win is reasonable. But maybe I am giving LAFC too much credit and our team will have something to show. I've thought all along that we have one of the more talented rosters in the league, we should be competing for a CCL bid IMHO. It is nice to see that start to come together and watch win comfortably against top teams.
