Visited with Devin Kaufusi as he looks so much like Corbin. We talked about that and then talked about Utah. I said, "Please beat Utah this year." His response, "We want that game. That is our plan. We really want that game."

Had a quick photo and talked with Jaren Hall and he said the Cougars want the win over Utah to start the season. Said the expectation is there. He is good in every way and is bringing some good competition to Zach, even though its pretty sure that Zach is the starter against Utah!

Had a quick photo with Ty'Son back behind the autograph tents where most of the Cougars were sitting. He is very gracious and is a rock. He was good-natured about all of the people wanting autographs and pictures. I apologized for being the old man wanting a picture with him but he just laughed that off. Said his expectation is to win on the 29th.

Finally spoke with Chandon Herring, the guy is a beast. He said, "We will be ready for Utah." when I also asked him to "Please beat Utah." He and I also talked about the game slipping away last year and discussed how much it hurt when Hadley and Kaufusi went down. Two major stars out right there.

These players want this win on the 29th. Those who know about the rivalry want this ship to be righted and expect to bring it to that game. I know that Utah will also be up for the game but I really do believe these players want to end this victory drought.

Great night, other than having to wait in the 90+ degree heat as a Cougar Club member from 5:30 to get in, until Zach finally came over to the QB tent at 6:20 to sign, but I was grateful that they were still willing to do it. There is a fire in these players to change which I haven't felt that much before, at least over the past 4 or 5 years as I have been at the Cougar Kickoffs.

That is all. Just thought I would add some of what got me more excited about this season. One last thing, Channing said Zach is making all of the throws, and the guy has a passion to win. Go Cougars!
