When it was finally time for Joe Montana to pass the torch, it wasnt graceful. Montana wasnt kind to Steve. However, Steve was ALWAYS respectful of Montana. He realized that there was no future in complaining about it. I lived in SF at the time and it was just awesome to see a good guy like Steve Young get his turn. 49er fans were a bit spoiled back then. Anything less than a Super Bowl victory was failure to them.
