My neighbor had a drone hover over their backyard and hover 20 feet above their girls. It followed them around the backyard and then into the front yard.

They yelled and screamed at it, but it wouldn’t leave. The girls went in and got their mom. She threatened to call the police and it finally left and hasn’t been back since.

My neighbor called the police and they told her their were no laws governing airspace and there was nothing they could do.

While this may have been some kid having some innocent fun, it may also have been some pervert videoing these little girls.

My question is...what is stopping someone from pulling out a shotgun and blowing the drone out of the sky? I have to imagine there are ordinances against discharging a firearm within city limits so I could see a homeowner baring both an intrusion of personal space/privacy and a fine.

What other recourse is there?
