BYU has today more than it has ever had in it's entire history. More money. More exposure. More brand recognition. More recruiting advantages. More facilities. More everything. Players on Jim McMahon's team would have LOVED this version of BYU. Max Hall's team would have loved it!
The problem isn't that BYU isn't making as much money as Arizona or Minnesota or Kansas. The problem is that Kalani isn't a good head football coach. He's a great guy but just look at his resume. Oregon State was a joke and Utah didn't miss a beat when he left (maybe because it was Whitt who made that D elite?). Until BYU opens it's Head Coaching position to "any worthy candidate", we're going to be playing with one arm tied behind our back. Either that or find a way to call Andy on a mission to Provo for a few years where he can groom or baptize a successor.
