I was in SoCal for those years, and because I'm friends with the Chows, Norm would often put me down as a coach and I'd get free tickets to those games. It was strange to sit in a half-empty Coliseum and watch Carson Palmer struggle to go 6-6 that first year, and then watch it kick in his senior year and win the Heisman. It was actually awesome to see and be a part of until Pete's ego got the best of him. It was especially weird being in the SC locker room after they beat BYU, but got to see some great games and talent.
