The OL couldn't tell the snap count due to the noise which caused bad snaps and the OL to react slow. This gave an edge to the TN DL...
Coach Mateos made the adjustment to have the RG (Hoge) look back at Wilson, Wilson would signal for the snap then Hoge would tap Empey (the center) and he would snap the ball. This cleaned up the snaps, but the guys on the edge of the line still had to be reactive, not proactive because they didn't know when the ball was snapped.
IMHO.. it was a great learning experience for our young OL.
