How talented is the defense? I think we have a few bright spots at certain
positions but I think across the board you can't say this is an uber talented defensive squad.

The most concerning is the Dline. Tonga is really the lone standout and of the rest I don't see anybody that the opposing offense would be particularly worried about. The DEs are especially worrisome as the've show they can't get to the QB at all. They are good players across the board but definitely not in the "great" category at this point.

Last year coaches had to figure out a way to stop Takitaki but nobody really stands out like that from what I can see. I think a few guys can develop into that but they are still a bit inexperienced or young. Maybe by the end of the year we'll see some players really emerge. Hopefully especially among the LBers.

I think this is why we have the bend and don't break system.
