Utah. The average recruiting ranking for BYU the last 4 years has been #75. For Utah it has been #40. There is a real general disparity in "bigger, faster, stronger" across the rosters of the two programs. It does in general make a difference.
I'm not talking about talent as it relates to technique or actual playing ability insofar as it can be measured outside of "bigger, faster, stronger".
I'm not saying BYU has not recruited/acquired great "bigger, faster, stronger" talent. KVN, Ziggy, Fred Warner, etc. But in general there is a disparity in that regard between the Cougar program and many of the P5 programs BYU has scheduled. And this has prompted the valid question of whether the program has overscheduled and whether they can achieve their intended goals.
