Some of the worst fans I've encountered are Mormons with an inferiority complex.

At the UCLA game, a BYU fan brought along his Mormon buddy, who wasn't even a UCLA fan, but who cheered against BYU the whole night.

Dude had a raging BYU hatred / inferiority complex. I don't think he had much real life exposure to BYU, though, and was mostly mad against a false notion of who and what he thought BYU was.
