I haven't driven the latest one, but have driven NA, NB, and NC Miatas. They're
all phenomenal drivers and are economical to own and maintain. I do like the appearance of the Fiat better.
Have you driven the Alfa Romeo yet? Whatever you are considering, make sure you do a thorough test drive first. If you're considering a Miata because they are fun to drive, I would strongly consider getting a nicer coupe or sedan with more amenities as your daily driver, and getting a used Miata as a fun car. And despite 30 years of improvements in safety technology—much of it required now—that’s only about 200 pounds heavier than the original one that launched in 1989. That’s amazing, and a testament to how fastidious Mazda’s engineers were about cutting weight.
